Sabrina Bouarour

Sabrina Bouarour is a professor, researcher and filmmaker. She has taught filmmaking at the Johns Hopkins Baltimore Youth Film Art Program after teaching film and media studies at La Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. She holds a PhD in film and media studies from La Sorbonne Nouvelle and graduated from L'Ecole Normale SupĂ©rieure (rue d'Ulm), and the CFJ (school of journalism) in Paris. The articles she wrote as a journalist appeared in a wide variety of publications including Le Monde and So Film. Her academic research deals with cultural and gender studies, and she is interested in Hollywood film genres, especially musicals and melodramas. She is currently finishing her first-feature documentary about the Baltimore uprising.
